CORPORATE VISION
AND STRATEGY

How would you be if you were born today?
Answer this from a customer, commercial and culture perspective;
so you are motivated to proceed with conviction. This is your vision.

How will you allocate your resources to become it?
Choose which assets and capabilities you will build, and what you will not do;
so you are aligned and focused in action. This is your strategy.

How we might help:
Lead the whole process.
Manage your teams and partners.
Challenge and review your thinking.

Corporate strategy for the digital era, not a digital strategy. Expressed in fewer than 1,000 words because great strategy is short, exciting and clear in instruction; not to be confused with the analysis that proceeds it or the plan that follows.

The world gone digital is meeting customers’ needs in radical new ways at lower cost, bringing disruption to margin and models. Winning demands imagining yourself in that world, and how technology, people and places will deliver it.

CAPABILITIES DIAGNOSTIC
AND PLAN

How ready are you to do business in the digital era?
Assess your performance against our maturity model;
so you understand the current position and gaps.

Where must you be high-performing to deliver your strategy?
Decide what is important, how quickly it is needed and make the case;
so you have an action plan.

How we might help:
Look holistically at the whole business.
Focus on specific challenge areas.
Execute this part of a due-diligence activity or post-merger plan.

Facilitated four week activity. 1:1 sessions with leaders and stakeholders to assess position with two group sessions to test alignment and prioritise gaps.

The digital world impacts every corner of your organization. It demands big shifts not tweaks; transformation not addition. The capabilities approach encourages holistic, bold and normalizing change - transcending projects, initiatives and digital teams.

A self-assessment version of the tool is available here to give you a flavour. It is organized by three themes of Reimagination, Customer Obsession and Means of Production each with nine capabilities expanded in more detail.

EXECUTIVE SUPPORT
FOR DIGITAL

How will you lead the change required?
Augment your teams with support to demystify the technology and
techniques, and to stretch the thinking; so everyone can play their role.

How will you govern the portfolio?
Make sure every initiative has a complete team with a shared view of the business case and approach; so you maximize the chance of success.

How we can help:
Review, refresh and rationalize change portfolios.
Intervene to fix problems and projects.
Coach executives and delivery teams.

Being more responsive to the market requires changes to how you organize and operate, and how you run and govern initiatives. It demands changes in how we all engage with customers, colleagues and projects.

High-functioning multidisciplinary teams are key. We need commercial, technology and creative folk delivering as one. Some of it "just" requires introduction of new thinking ideas. Some of this requires training. All of it needs leadership - obviously.

HOW WE ENGAGE

“I don’t use consultants but I’ve found Matthew to be extremely helpful."
CEO PE owned business, Nov ‘20

“Congratulations on a great job to prepare and run our strategy [review]. …extremely thorough, well thought through, stimulating… enabled us to get unanimous alignment. … What you did was defining.”
Chair FTSE 250, Oct ‘20.

Client-side Advisory. We provide one or two consultants to augment your team. We are neutral to the strategy content. We get to stay longer if you make progress.

Embedded Interim. Working with us will feel like hiring a short-stay very experienced team member. Remote working has made it easier for us to meet more people and get useful faster.

Paid on Success. We favour fixed-fee projects defined by success criteria against which clients pay at their absolute discretion. In return they must play an active project role.

Good Partners. We collaborate well with internal teams or your external partners. We can lead and manage them, or be a go-to resource for them.

Easy to do business with. Noel Coward said "work should be more fun than fun" - a stretch but we do bring the best out of people and leave an imprint of that on your business.
